Fishing Holiday In Southern Tasmania - Huon Valley

Brown Trout (including sea runners, which taste the best), Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout and Atlantic Salmon are all found in the local rivers in southern Tasmania. The best river is by far the Huon River as it present to most opportunity to catch a number of species. Soft plastic lure fishing is now the predominant style used to catch trout and salmon in Southern Tasmania, but the largest fish have been caught on fly and spinning lures. The Huon River still hold the Australian record for the largest brown trout taken in Australia.  During the summer you now find many sea run species starting to venture up the Huon river chasing the local white bait.  For those that like to wait there are also the Bream and local eels population that make a nice game fish or a meal depending on your requirements.  But the real opportunity is chasing the large Brown Trout, we had more success  with the dark drown spinning lures with some very large trout taken on the banks of Riverfront Estate or take the supplied row boat or Kayak and venture up the river looking for the deep overhanging snags or dont forget the inlet.  But if you are looking for accommodation in the Huon valley with a unique location and with absolute river front please book your accommodation at https://www.riverfrontestate.com.au/.
