Cycling the Huon Valley - Discovered Southern Tasmania rich cycle touring territory

There are many cycling opportunities in the Huon Valley, depending on your skill level or requirements.  The Huon Valley nestles under the reclining profile of Sleeping Beauty, the poetic name of the bordering mountain range. So it’s appropriate that the valley has been known for its apples and now its boutique cider houses: Willie Smiths near Huonville, Franks out of Franklin and Pagan Cider in Cygnet. Willie Smiths is on this route and hosts local entertainment on Friday nights and monthly on Sundays. The local ciders all use apples, pears and cherries but are quite different.
You can set out from Riverfront Estate in the morning and do a very relaxing ride of approximately 28klm  Riding up to Summer Kitchen bakery and café in Ranelagh for breakfast and a coffee, then continue up the river, noticing the dark flow of the Huon River with tannins, making any amount of reflective photo opportunities on a still day. You can arrive at Judbury and cross the Huon River and then head back down the river, via Glen Huon back into Huonville for a simple lunch at The Block Steak House.
